EU to Adopt Unified USB-C Standard for Electronic Devices in 2024

The European Commission officially announced that USB Type-C will become the common standard for electronic devices in the EU from 2024. In other words, starting from 2024, all EU electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones, etc. will use a unified USB-C interface for charging. At this point, the USB-C interface has officially "unified the world."
Electronic devices use a unified USB-C charging port: Users can use any USB-C charger to charge their devices without brand restrictions.

Unified Fast Charging Technology: Helps prevent different manufacturers from unreasonably limiting charging speeds and ensures the same charging speed when using a charger for any compatible device.

Separating the sale of chargers from electronic devices: Consumers will be able to purchase new electronic devices without new chargers. This will limit the number of chargers on the market or unused.

Provide consumers with better visual and written information: Manufacturers will need to provide relevant visual and written information about charging characteristics, including the power required by the device, whether it supports fast charging, etc.

Looking back on the past, the process of unifying the USB-C interface in the EU market is not simple.
