According to Taiwanese media Mashdigi, citing sources, Broadcom will terminate VMware's previous partner agreements with resellers on February 4, and the original resellers will need to reapply for sales qualifications. This means that VMware's original partners with annual revenues of less than $500,000 will face the risk of losing cooperation.
In a statement, Broadcom noted, "Broadcom remains committed to creating value in our combined ecosystem, which has become even stronger with the addition of VMware partners. Effective February 5, 2024, the company will convert the VMware partner program to an invitation-only basis."
Broadcom said it will terminate all partner agreements with VMware resellers and service providers, eliminating VMware's partner program and sales incentives, and existing partners will need to reapply.
However, one VMware partner said, "It is expected that Broadcom's invitations will only be sent to reseller partners with revenues of $500,000 to $1 million or more. It will be quite a challenging situation for smaller partners."
However, there are some resellers who said their own monthly sales degree is about $40,000, but also received Broadcom Broadcom Premium Partner Program invitation notice, so the sales degree may not be the only reason to decide whether to re-sign.
A Broadcom insider said: "For most companies, all contracts will be terminated at the end of January, but for service providers, not until April. Only a few selected companies will be able to join this new program, and the rest will no longer be able to sell VMware products."
For the above news, Broadcom has not publicly commented, the authenticity of the news has yet to be further verified, the international electronic business will continue to pay attention.
