The L9950XP is a microcontroller-driven, multifunctional door actuator driver designed specifically for automotive applications. It can control up to five DC motors and five grounded resistive loads using six half-bridges and five high-side drivers. This versatile IC integrates a standard serial peripheral interface (SPI) to manage all operation modes, including forward, reverse, brake, and high impedance.

The L9950XP offers a comprehensive set of features tailored for automotive door actuators. It includes one full bridge for a 6A load (Ron=150 mΩ), two half-bridges for 3A loads (Ron=300 mΩ), and two half-bridges for 1.5A loads (Ron=800 mΩ). Additionally, it features one high-side driver for a 6A load (Ron=100 mΩ) and four high-side drivers for 1.5A loads (Ron=800 mΩ). The device supports programmable soft-start functions for high inrush currents, low standby current consumption (IS < 6 μA typical), and comprehensive protection features such as short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and open-load diagnostics.
